# threadByMSTeamsMessage

> Resolves a Microsoft Teams message to the Plain thread its conversation is on. If the message's
thread was closed and the conversation continued in a successor thread, returns the open
successor; if there is no open successor, returns the closed thread, which has `lockedAt`
set. Returns null if Plain has not ingested the message. For a channel post, pass the root
post's ID.

After `createThreadFromMSTeamsMessage` returns no thread, poll this query until it returns a
thread whose `lockedAt` is null. While the first thread is being created it returns null;
while a successor to a closed thread is being created it returns the closed thread. Requires
the `thread:read` permission.
