# Account membership changed

> Fired when a customer is added to or removed from an account.

This event is fired when a customer is added to or removed from an account. An account is the new name for a [tenant](/docs/product/platform/tenants): the company or organization your customers belong to.

The `changeType` field says what happened:

* `ADDED`: the customer was added to the account
* `REMOVED`: the customer was removed from the account

The payload also contains `customer` and `account`. Plain doesn't send this event for customers marked as spam or customers that have been deleted.

This event was added in webhook version [`2026-10-06`](/docs/webhooks/versions). Targets on earlier versions don't receive it.
