# Account updated

> Fired when the details of an account in your workspace change.

This event is fired when an account is updated. An account is the new name for a [tenant](/docs/product/platform/tenants): the company or organization your customers belong to.

The payload contains `account`, the account after the change, and `previousAccount`, the account before it. Compare the two to find what changed.

Changes to account fields fire [`account.account_field_updated`](/docs/webhooks/account-field-updated) instead. A customer joining or leaving the account fires [`account.account_membership_changed`](/docs/webhooks/account-membership-changed).

This event was added in webhook version [`2026-10-06`](/docs/webhooks/versions). Targets on earlier versions don't receive it.
