Behind every support request is a person. Every Friday, we feature someone in support who inspires us. Today, we're featuring Gizem Onan – Product Specialist at Framer. Here's her story 👇

👀 How did you find yourself in a career in support?

I was running a studio for nearly a decade and looking for a no-code tool to streamline our process. That’s when I started testing Framer. I joined the community and soon found myself spending tons of time there. I loved helping people—it felt rewarding and also helped me learn the product deeply. Eventually, I got an offer from Framer, and that’s how the journey began.

💕 What do you love about it?

Customer support and success requires collaboration, teamwork, communication, and data analysis. It also involves looking back to understand how customers start and grow to truly deliver value. What I love most is the team vibe—how we communicate, solve problems, and always have each other’s backs. It never feels like you’re working alone or stuck. We’re constantly coming up with new ideas, discussing them openly, and taking action. Seeing the impact of those efforts—whether it's improving a process or making a customer feel supported—is very fulfilling. When a customer loves the product and also feels empowered by the support we provide, that’s the best part.

⏪ How did what you were doing before impact your ability to be great in support?

I built a lot of websites with code and over the years, I expanded my knowledge into design, development, SEO, advertising and more. So when questions come up that touch those areas I can dig deeper and go beyond what's expected. That technical background helps me explain the product more clearly and troubleshoot more effectively. Also, having worked with clients for years made me better at understanding how they think and what they need—especially in more tricky situations. That empathy and perspective really carry over into support.

🪄 Who’s someone you learned a lot from, and what did you learn from them?

I’ve learned a lot from my manager. She’s always supported me—even seeing potential I hadn’t recognized in myself. She gives thoughtful, consistent feedback and has encouraged me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. Having that kind of leadership makes a huge difference in how you show up at work and how confident you feel.

📣 What advice would you give to someone else who is considering a career change?

Find the right team and company—it makes all the difference. Be open to learning and feedback. You don’t need to know everything at the start. What matters most is curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to grow.

🏆 What company has recently really impressed you with the quality of their support?

It might sound like I’m just hyping up the place I work, but honestly—Framer. The support team really cares about the customer experience, and I see it in action every day. The mix of product knowledge, empathy, and responsiveness really stands out.
