We’ve raised a $15m Series A led by Battery Ventures, with continued participation from Index Ventures and Connect Ventures, to build the best support platform for B2B. This funding will accelerate our mission of helping companies deliver support more efficiently and collaboratively, integrating communication channels and fostering teamwork to improve customer relationships.

Why we exist
B2B customer support is undergoing three major shifts that are transforming the industry.
AI is freeing customer-facing teams from manual and repetitive work. These major shifts mean companies are moving from reactive and siloed support to building proactive and collaborative partnerships with their customers, fundamentally changing how businesses engage with clients.
Customer interaction is moving from transactional and siloed email and chat communications on traditional platforms and ticketing systems to collaborative, real-time new communication channels like Slack, Discord and Microsoft Teams. This new reality of B2B support requires businesses to adapt to dynamic ways in which businesses interact with their customers, fostering ongoing engagement and collaboration. Employees increasingly work in these collaborative, real-time environments rather than relying on siloed email.

We’re especially excited to welcome Neeraj Agrawal to our board. His deep expertise in scaling SaaS businesses and deep knowledge of the support space make him an incredible partner for our journey. Our founders helped scale Deliveroo from a small startup to a large enterprise, and they bring that experience to Plain.
What we’re doing with the funding

First, we’re doubling down on our product to make Plain even more powerful and expand its AI capabilities. We’re already seeing teams beyond customer support get a lot of value from Plain – like customer success, engineering and product. Each of these teams plays a key role in delivering value to our customers. Our goal is to make Plain a platform that not only support can use, but one that every customer-facing team in the company can rely on to get closer to their customers. We see AI as pivotal in helping us achieve that, and we are also focused on developing advanced internal tooling to support our growth and enable seamless collaboration across teams.
Second, we’re expanding our team across every function – including sales, marketing, design and engineering. We are committed to building a strong design team and leveraging our expertise in design systems to ensure a high-quality, scalable product experience.
