Lock threads

You can now lock threads in Plain to permanently close resolved conversations.

When a thread is locked, it’s marked as Done and no one on your team can reply. If a customer replies later, Plain automatically creates a new thread so the conversation can continue without reopening the original one.

The original thread links to the new one with Continued in, and the new thread links back with Continued from, so it’s always clear how the conversation progressed. This works across email, Slack, Discord, and chat.

You can lock a thread from the thread header, the thread list, or the command palette. You can also automate thread locking with workflows using the Lock thread action and Thread is locked condition. Full details in our help center.
