Email Discussions

You can now loop in people outside your workspace without leaving Plain. Forward an email to another address, and replies will sync back into the same discussion thread in Plain.

This makes it easy to collaborate with external teams or partners directly from any thread. The forwarded message includes the full context of the thread so recipients can understand the situation right away. Replies from external participants are automatically synced back to the discussion keeping everything in one place. Email discussions are private and are never visible to the customer on the original support thread.

To start an email discussion, open any thread and click Discussion > Select Email. Then, add the email addresses of the people you want to include.

Improvements

  • Updated settings page with quick links to many sections

  • Thread counts now appear under sidebar favorite views

  • You can now reply with attachments to private Slack channels you are not part of

  • You can now add up to 5 BCC email addresses to include in all outgoing emails to customers, useful for audit or compliance purposes

Bug Fixes

  • Markdown displayed as rich text now uses the correct HTML tag for code, preserving formatting when pasted into the composer

  • Fixed an issue where the “created at” filter could not be saved for saved views
