Broadcasts: Message every customer channel from Plain

Broadcasts now live in Plain, in the left sidebar, with the same login and permissions as everything else.

A broadcast is one message sent to many customer Slack channels at once: an incident update, a maintenance window, a product change.

  • Audiences are filters, not lists: Build an audience by filtering the customer data already available: tier, customer, custom fields, or channel name. Audiences sync in real time, so a customer who moves tier is in the right audience automatically. Save and reuse them.

  • See exactly who gets it: Review every channel in your audience, exclude any you don't want, and send a real test to yourself or a channel first.

  • Replies come back as threads: When a customer replies in their channel, a thread opens in Plain attributed to the broadcast that prompted it, in the same inbox your team already works from. Threads only open when someone actually replies. You also get delivery status for every channel and the reactions you got back.

You can also draft, schedule, and maintain messages and Audiences directly from Sidekick and our MCP.

If you used the old broadcast app at broadcasts.plain.com, it was shut down on September. Full details are in our Broadcast Migration FAQ.
